When you get a bit out of control throughout the holidays we will be here to bail you out of jail

Having something for everyone, the city shows its true diversity amongst other major metropolitan cities. The city's infamous 'Las Vegas Strip' is a mecca for gamblers and presents a chance for people to come to Las Vegas to let their hair down and have a good time.

Many people may forget that there is a city with more than 2 million people living in it outside of the casinos. Las Vegas has made national headlines several times for apprehending wanted fugitives. Even Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman has been quoted on several occasions that Las Vegas is not a place for criminals to come and hide. During this time, the local police and other law enforcement agencies beefed up their patrols and has since brought the crime rate in Las Vegas down.

Many people have a hard time separating what they see on TV from the real world. Even so-called "reality" shows are scripted to give an entertainment value. With drama being a staple in a television network's programming, it's no wonder some of the most popular shows on TV today are crime related dramas. The writers of these shows will bring in experts as consultants so the show stays relatively close to what happens in real life, however, no one show will comprehensively duplicate the police investigation process.

While many counties and states will have a generic bail schedule posted, where it is pre-determined how much bail will be when a defendant is charged with a certain crime, the judge is the ultimate decision maker in determing if, and how much, bail will be for a certain defendant. This is usually based on several factors, including the defendant's prior criminal record, ties to the community and if they pose as a flight risk. Bail is a right protected by the Sixth Amendment of the United States so long as the offense the person is accused of is a bailable offense, in most states, this translates to not being accused of a capital crime. While bail agents can complete and submit the paperwork as quickly as they can, they are still at the mercy of the detention center's release schedule, making it hard to determine an exact time a defendant will be released from jail.

Southern Nevada has the following jails:

•    CCSD
•    Downtown City Jail
•    NLV Jail
•    Henderson Detention Center

Many times when people are from out of town and their friend is arrested on the Las Vegas Strip, they're not sure which jail their friend has been taken to. The location of your arrest and the apprehending agency will usually play the major role in where you end up at. If you're stopped and arrested by the North Las Vegas Police, then you'll probably end up at the North Las Vegas Detention Center unless there are other warrants or circumstances which dictate you be taken somewhere else. If you are arrested in Las Vegas, you will most likely be held in custody at the Clark County Detention Center.

The last thing a person wants is for themselves or their loved one to be stuck in jail, which is why they seek the services of a Las Vegas bail bonds company to get out of jail. Although you may have used a bail bondsman to get out of jail, they are not your baby sitters and it's not their respnsibility to remind you about court. You need to step up to the plate and stay on top of everything, including checking in and knowing when you need to go to court. The last thing you want to do when out on bail is to miss your court date. By missing your court date, you are subject to having a warrant in your name and having your bail revoked..
